Humboldt girls hold off Lions, 6-4

The Humboldt softball pushed their conference record to 3-0 by holding off the Clear Lake Lions, 6-4 in Humboldt on Friday, June 2. The victory improved the Wildcats to 5-2 overall.

Reagan Lee earned the win pitching as she threw all seven innings for the Wildcats. She scattered eight hits and struck out eight. Offensively, Elsie Hubbell was 3-for-4 with two doubles. Addie Thompson and Paige Opheim each had run-scoring doubles.

Humboldt improved to 2-0 in conference play Wednesday night (May 31) by turning back the Algona Bulldogs, 5-2 in Algona. Reagan Lee pitched all seven innings for the Wildcats. She limited the Bulldogs to just two hits. The Wildcats moved to 4-2 overall.

Humboldt girls top Roland-Story, 7-5
Elsie Hubbell and Paige Opheim each hit a double to lead the Humboldt girls' softball team to a 7-5 non-conference victory over Roland-Story on May 30 in Humboldt. Reagan Lee scattered nine hits pitching all seven innings for the Wildcats, who improved to 3-2 overall.

Wildcat girls bury HDC, 15-0
Reagan Lee pitched a 2-hitter as the Humboldt softball team opened North Central Conference play with a 15-0 shutout victory at Hampton Dumont CAL Friday night, May 27.

Lee struck out six. Abby Armitage was 3-4 at bat with a double and a home run to lead the Wildcats. She drove in six runs. Elsie Hubbell was 3-3 with a double.

The Wildcats are at Webster City on Monday, June 5.
