For Police Officer David Jones and Lake Nokomis Drive resident Steve Christensen it was a matter of doing what needed to be done.
Even though the pair was awarded plaques for lifesaving exploits late on the afternoon of this past Memorial Day, May 29, neither sees themselves as a hero.
Humboldt Police Chief Joel Sanders begs to differ and on Monday, at the start of the Humboldt City Council meeting, recognized both men for their lifesaving efforts.
“Both of these gentlemen did some outstanding work on Memorial Day and saved some lives,” Sanders said.
