Wildcats clinch NCC baseball title!

HUMBOLDT DOWNS WEBSTER CITY, 4-3
The Humboldt baseball team's special season continues as the Wildcats clinched a share of the North Central Conference championship with a 4-3 victory over the Webster City Lynx on Friday night, June 23 in Humboldt.
The triumph pushed Humboldt to 19-3 overall on the season, 11-0 in the NCC. Humboldt has three league games left next week to win the NCC outright. The Wildcats visit Clarion on Monday, June 26, travel to Fort Dodge St. Edmond on June 28 and host Iowa Falls-Alden on June 29.
Ty Gargano pitched all seven innings to earn the win for Humboldt. He scattered four hits. Humboldt's batting order was led by Mason Van Pelt, who hit a triple and single and drove in two runs. Evan Hatcher doubled twice and singled. Josh Thurm doubled and Riley Sorensen hit a single.
Humboldt travels to Boone on Tuesday, June 27, for a non-conference game with the Toreadors.
The Wildcats visit Fort Dodge St. Edmond on Wednesday, June 28, for a conference game with the Gaels.
The Wildcats will wrap up conference play at home on Thursday, June 29, against Iowa Falls-Alden.
