Humboldt is kicking off the July 4th holiday in a healthful and patriotic way with a fun 5k or 10k road race, the Run White & Blue.
This annual event not only provides needed exercise for persons of all ages and fitness abilities, it raises funds for a great cause. All entry fees will send local veterans to the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight one-day, all expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. The next flight will be Wednesday, Sept. 13.
The cost for the race is $25 until June 28 and $30 thereafter.
Race T-shirts are only guaranteed for preregistered entries.
The race will start and end at US Bank on Sumner Avenue. People will walk/run up the hill into Dakota City and then take routes on the Three Rivers Trail and city streets to return to the finish line.
People are asked to go to getmeregistered.com and search “Run White & Blue” or find a link on the group’s Run White & Blue Run – Humboldt page on Facebook to get signed up.
