Water shutoff south of downtown

The city of Humboldt and PeopleService report that water will be shut off today (Thursday) from 10 a.m. till the end of the work day in the area from 1st Avenue South to 4th Avenue South encompassing the blocks of 2nd Street South, 3rd Street South and 4th Street South.
SCE of Cherokee is replacing two fire hydrants in that part of town, part of a hydrant and water valve replacement project in the city.
Houses impacted by the shutoff were tagged with door hangers Wednesday evening, Humboldt City Administrator Cole Bockelmann reported.
