Wildcats place 6 on all-NCC softball team
The Humboldt softball team emerged as a challenger for the North Central Conference championship this past season, right up until the final games of the season.
While Humboldt came up short, finishing second to league champion Fort Dodge St. Edmond, the Wildcats gained attention of the NCC coaches, evidenced by having six players named to the post-season all-conference team.
Freshman first baseman Paige Opheim is a unanimous first-team pick. Sophomore outfielder Claire Dieleman was named to the first-team, along with junior pitcher Reagan Lee.
Sophomore catcher Elsie Hubbell was named to the second-team, along with senior shortstop Addie Thompson. Freshman third baseman Abby Armitage was chosen third-team.
