New staffers at Humboldt Newspapers

Humboldt County Newspapers is pleased to announce two new staff members at the newspaper. April Kelley is writing news and feature stories and taking photos. She has a variety of professional experience and provided some freelance articles for the Humboldt Independent back in 2003-04. She has also spent time as a social worker, medical assistant, store clerk and animal control specialist. She said she is super excited to conduct interviews and write stories and take photographs for a full-time profession. Heather Dahl has joined the staff as a new advertising sales representative. Heather is familiar with the community and the newspaper office. She has called Humboldt home for most of her life since moving here with her parents in the early 1990s when she was about 10 years old. She previously worked at the paper from July 2017 to April 2021 as a graphic design artist.
Heather brings to the position a varied background of graphic design, member management and sales and marketing experience. “We are pleased and excited to have someone of Heather’s skills and abilities to be joining our sales team,” General Manager Kent Thompson said.
