When a person goes to the emergency room at the hospital, the last thing they want is people struggling for elbow room in a life-saving situation.
But that was somewhat the case until now. Last week, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH) opened its newly remodeled emergency room suite, improving the care for critical patients who need immediate attention.
That’s according to Chief Nursing Executive Victor Bycroft, who said the remodel has been planned for a while now. Thanks to the efforts of the HCMH maintenance department, it is now a reality.
Maintenance Director Dave Knight and his six-person staff did all of the wiring, construction and plumbing.
