Revving the engines for a Saturday reunion in Dakota City

From left: Kirby Berhow of Milford, formerly of Dakota City, Jerry Moritz of Humboldt and Jack Haas of Humboldt, originally from Dakota City, took a few minutes to reminisce about the Modifiers Car Club (1955-1975). The group will be having a car show and reunion this Saturday at Tim and Nick’s in Dakota City from 2-5 p.m. The public is invited to stop by both outside and inside the restaurant. Defining the need for speed for a generation, the Humboldt Modifiers Car Club wasn’t just an outlet for youthful energy. It was a club that had members, rules, a few activities and a love for hot rods and working on cars.
This weekend, some of those old memories will burn bright again when members of the group gather for a reunion and car show in Dakota City on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 2-5 p.m. at Tim and Nick’s Restaurant, 507 Main St.
There will be classic cars along Main Street and inside the restaurant, in the west reception area, there will be photos and memorabilia, a PowerPoint presentation and lots of good conversation.
To find out a little more about the club origins, its reason for being and why people joined, we talked to Kirby Berhow of Milford and Jack Haas and Jerry Moritz of Humboldt. Read about their memories exclusively in this week's Humboldt Independent, your trusted source for local news and sports.
