The Humboldt community is rallying for the golf/meal/concert benefit for Kylee Myott in her battle against cancer.
A Trick-or-Tee Fore Kylee nine-hole golf tournament is planned for Saturday afternoon, Oct. 14, at the Humboldt Country Club.
The four-person, best shot tourney will begin with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Team costumes are encouraged. The entry fee of $1,000 per team include golf, dinner for four, concert admission for four and recognition the day of the event.
Following golf and dinner there will be an auction, door prizes given away and then live music by Tank Anthony at 7 p.m. Non-golfers can attend the concert for a $50 entry fee.
Business sponsorship for teams is being sought, and hole sponsorships are available from $250-$999. Being a hole sponsor allows a business to set up a table and pass out promotional merchandise and information.
Organizers are hoping for 18 teams and would like to fundraise $20,000.
After overcoming cervical cancer in 2014, Myott has had reoccurring tumors in her back, lungs and lymph nodes. Her family and support group are raising funds for Kylee to hopefully get innovative therapies in Texas, as her oncologist has told her there are no more conventional options to attack the cancer cells. Read more about her journey in this week's Humboldt Independent.
People who cannot attend the outing but who would like to donate may make checks payable to the non-profit entity, “We Are Philanthropists LLC.” They may be mailed or dropped off at the Clifton Kalafatich Edward Jones office, 16 Taft St. N., Humboldt, IA 50548, or at the Arends, Lee, Emick, Legvold, Myott Law Office, P.O.
