Humboldt teacher on paid administrative leave; criminal investigation started
By KENT THOMPSON
The Humboldt Community School District has announced that a teacher is currently on administrative leave and the matter is being investigated. The teacher’s name has not been released.
That word was reported by Humboldt School Superintendent Jim Murray late Thursday afternoon.
Humboldt County Sheriff Chief Deputy Cory Lampe concurred “there is an investigation going on at the school.” Lampe reported that the sheriff’s office and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation are working jointly on the matter. There is no timeline as to how long the investigation might take.
In a prepared statement Murray reported the following: “We are following district policy and procedures to investigate the issue. We can’t comment further as it is a confidential personnel mater.
“Families can be confident, however, that student safety remains our highest priority,” the superintendent said.
