HHS boys top Cardinals, girls fall

Humboldt’s varsity boys basketball team entered the Christmas break at 6-2 overall after beating Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, 48-42 in Garner Thursday night, Dec. 21. Evan Hatcher scored 15 points, Corey Dettmann had 14 points and Carson Sleiter made 9 to lead the Wildcats. Aiden Schisel had 13 and Lane Gayken 10 for the Cardinals.
Humboldt’s girls lost a 50-49 contest to the Cardinals. Morgan Mann scored 24 points, Reagan Lee had 9 and Ava Fischer added 8 for the Wildcats, who slip to 7-3 overall.
