Girls win, boys fall at Clear Lake

Humboldt's varsity girl-boy basketball teams divided their games at Clear Lake on Jan. 22 with the girls winning, 64-36, and the boys falling, 74-65.

Morgan Mann scored 22 points, Ava Fischer made 21 and Kaitlyn Nelson had 12 to lead the Wildcats. The Lions fell to 7-7 overall. The Wildcat girls improved to 11-4 overall, 7-2 in conference play.

Top-ranked Clear Lake's boys used a 9-0 run late in the game to pull out a 74-65 victory over the Wildcats.

Humboldt slipped to 9-3 overall, 6-2 in conference play.

Humboldt plays host to the Algona Bulldogs tonight (Jan. 23) in the Humboldt gym.
