Humboldt boys blitz Algona, fall to HDC

The Humboldt boys’ basketball team bounced back from a tough loss the previous night at Clear Lake for a 98-62 victory over the Algona Bulldogs Tuesday night (Jan.23) in the Humboldt gym.

Elliot Carlson scored 28 points, Evan Hatcher made 26 and Coen Matson had 14 to lead the Wildcats.

On Friday night (Jan. 26) at Hampton, the Wildcats fell to the Bulldogs on a basket in the final seconds, 73-72. Coen Matson scored 28 points and Elliot Carlson made 21 to pace Humboldt, now 10-4 overall, 7-3 in the NCC.

The Wildcats return to action at home against South Central Calhoun on Monday, Jan. 29.
