“After a thorough and professional response by law enforcement on scene, Mr. Dayton exited the residence, and the situation was successfully resolved,” according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Dennis Quinn. The Fort Dodge Police was the lead agency in the apprehension.
“Dayton is now in custody for his parole violation warrant out of Pocahontas County, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety,” Quinn said in a statement to the media.
