A bridge to somewhere unique

This is an architectural rendering of what the new walking/biking trail across the Des Moines River in Humboldt will look like. The white building on the right is the city of Humboldt Park shed and the Cottonwood Trail (bottom right) will connect to the new bridge. Graphic image courtesy of ISG.

Another project that is a long time in coming will change the vista of the city of Humboldt and how it bisects the Des Moines River Valley in the community.
It also will provide a new rec-reational outlet for citizens.
It also will provide a safe pas-sage from the northern, central and eastern portions of Hum-boldt and Dakota City to the city’s southwest side without having to walk along or cross Highway 169.
The project is a pedestrian, single-span bridge across the Des Moines River, linking the existing Cottonwood Trail to Eagle Ridge where there will be a 2.2-mile granular trail around a heavily-wooded area to the northeast of Eagle Ridge Drive.
