Clarken 8th at 126 pounds in 2A state wrestling

Humboldt High 126-pound junior Tyce Clarke earned an 8th place medal in the Class 2A state wrestling tournament match Saturday morning inside Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Clarken, 43-8, lost by fall in 3:29 in the consolation final to Aiden Smith of Atlantic.
Clarken won 5-3 over Andon Barrick of Iowa Falls-Alden, to keep his season alive and guarantee a top eight finish on Friday, day three.
Clarken dropped his quarterfinal round match on the second day of the tournament, falling 6-0 to No. 1 seed Jace Hedeman (44-1) of Union, La Porte City.
Clark won his first two matches on day one of the tournament. Clarken pinned Beckett Hagen of Carroll in 1:01 in the first round. In the second round, Clarken pinned Ty Scorpil of Columbus Junction in 1:36.
