Carlson 2nd team, Matson named 3rd team
HHS went 15-8, 2nd in league

Humboldt senior Evan Hatcher, a first-team all-North Central Conference pick, is one of three Wildcat players selected to post-season honors by boys’ basketball coaches in the league.

Elliot Carlson, a 6-1 junior guard/forward, was named to the second-team while six-foot junior point guard Coen Matson was selected third-team. The trio helped Humboldt finish runner-up in the league standings at 10-4. Humboldt was 15-8 overall.

Hatcher is one of three unanimous selections by the NCC coaches. Senior post Scott Harr and junior forward Thomas Meyer were also selected first-team. They were joined by Ben Helmers of Algona, Titan Schmitt of Clear Lake and Hunter Horn of Fort Dodge St. Edmond.

The 6-foot-3 Hatcher averaged 20 points per game and also grabbed 9.1 rebounds per contest and handed out 2.56 assists. He led the team in scoring with 452 points.
