Mann, Fischer 1st team all-conference
Nelson 2nd team, Lee 3rd team for 18-5 Humboldt girls
Morgan Mann and Ava Fischer, the leading scorers of the Humboldt girls’ basketball team, helped the Wildcats challenge for the league title this past season.
Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed as they both were named first-team all-conference by North Central Conference coaches.
Humboldt, coached by 23-year head coach Rodd Mooney, posted an overall record of 18-5 and finished runner-up to Algona in the conference standings at 12-2.
Humboldt reached the Class 4A regional finals for the second straight year.
Mann was one of three players who received unanimous all-conference selection. In addition, Humboldt junior guard Kaitlyn Nelson received second-team honors while senior Reagan Lee was chosen third-team.
Mann averaged 20.1 points per game and also grabbed 6.8 rebounds, 3.34 steals and made 2.52 assists per game. She led Humboldt with 464 points this past season as she surpassed the career 1,000-point mark and in late-January became the school’s all-time leading scorer in five-player basketball.
