Wildcat girls host indoor track opener
Led by the winning shuttle hurdle relay, Humboldt's girls' track team opened their season by hosting their own Nielsen Family Indoor meet inside the recreation center.
The 4x60 shuttle hurdle relay, which consisted of Claire Dieleman, Sami Varangkounh, Alivia Goodell and Sophia Harris, clocked 43.49 seconds.
The Wildcats had numerous second and third-place finishes on the night.
Tayla Wempen was runner-up in the 60-meter dash in 8.42 seconds. Bella Metli finished second in the 200-meter dash in 28.62 seconds. Metli was also second in the 400-meters in 1:07.02.
Humboldt's distance medley relay finished second in 4:59.57. The relay consisted of Tayla Wempen, Bella Metli, Gracey May and Brynn Malo.
Humboldt senior Ashlynn Works was third in the shot put with a toss measuring 34-10.
Brynn Malo was third in the 1,500-meters in 5:48.22.
Next action for Humboldt will be the outdoor meet at Clear Lake on April 2.
