23 Humboldt students qualify for Special Olympics state meet

The Humboldt Recreation Center was packed Thursday, April 18 where Humboldt High School hosted the Special Olympics track and field event on the indoor track.
Students showcased their skills in running, walking, or wheeling in sprints around the track. They also competed in softball, shot put, and mini javelin.
Twenty-nine HHS students participated in the event with 23 placing first in their event, qualifying them for state. State Special Olympics will be held in Ames on May 17 and 18. Read about it and see more photos in this week's Humboldt Independent, your trusted source for local news and sports.
