Kalyn Erickson dominates at FD Kennel Club Dog Show

This weekend, Humboldt’s prodigy in the sport of purebred dogs, Kalyn Erickson, attended the Fort Dodge Kennel Club dog show at the Webster County Fairgrounds.
Erickson attended the event with her mother Erica Dunlavey who also competed in the show. The mother daughter duo was supported by their family who watched from the sidelines as Erickson competed.
The connection between Erickson and her current show companion Athena is evident, when the pair stepped into the ring on Saturday, the room lit up. By the time the show was over the pair had collected multiple ribbons. Earning Regular Group Two, Owner Handler Group One, and Owner Handler Best in Show.
Erickson and Athena currently hold the number one ranking for the American Staffordshire breed in the American Kennel Club Owner Handled Series. Erickson is also currently ranked number 16 in Juniors Group Top 20 overall and number four in Juniors Group Top 20 for the terrier group.

Correction: in the fifteenth paragraph of the Humboldt Independent Article published in this weeks issue on this topic states, "The connection between Dunlavey and her current show companion Athena is evident..." the last name Dunlavey was used in place of Erickson this is false information as it was Erickson who showed Athena not Dunlavey this was a typo and we apologize for any confusion.
