Storm Lake downs Humboldt girls, Wildcats at Le Mars in regional opener

Storm Lake handed the Humboldt girls' softball team a 9-5 setback in Storm Lake on Monday night, July 8. The Wildcats moved to 11-18 overall.

Humboldt fell at home to Emmetsburg on July 5, 4-1 in non-conference action.

Humboldt girls fall to Spencer
Spencer took an early lead and went on to down Humboldt, 12-7 in non-conference softball in Humboldt on Wednesday, July 3. The Wildcats slipped to 11-16 overall with the loss.

Elsie Hubbell pitched a one-hitter to lead the Humboldt softball team to a 10-0 victory over Iowa Falls-Alden in six innings on June 28 at Iowa Falls. Abby Armitage went 4-for-4 at bat with three runs batted in. Rylee Coyle had two hits for the Wildcats.

Humboldt improved to 11-15 overall, 7-7 in conference play.

Class 1A power Newell-Fonda handed Humboldt a 7-1 setback on June 27 in Humboldt.

Wildcats blank Cowgirls, fall to FDSE
The Humboldt softball team snapped a 3-game losing streak by beating Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 12-0 in Humboldt on Monday night, June 24.

Lynx hold off Humboldt softball team, 5-3
Humboldt's varsity softball team put together a strong performance at Webster City on Friday, June 21, but it wasn't enough in falling to the Lynx, 5-3 in a North Central Conference game. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 8-11 overall, 5-6 in the NCC.

Rylee Coyle homered, Claire Dieleman was 2-for-4 and Mia Schluter 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Humboldt hosts Waukee Northwest on July 9. The JV game will now start at 4 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 6 p.m.

Class 4A regional tournament play will begin on Thursday, July 11, when Humboldt travels to LeMars to face the Bulldogs in a first round game. The winner will play Fort Dodge at Fort Dodge on July 13.
