Humboldt’s softball team ended their season in a 5-1 loss to the Le Mars Bulldogs on Thursday night, July 11, in Le Mars in a Class 4A regional tournament opener. Humboldt’s youthful team ends the season at 11-20. Le Mars (22-14) moves on to face Fort Dodge (28-12) on Saturday night in Fort Dodge. The other half of the bracket saw Sioux Center (15-9) edge Spencer, 11-10. Sioux Center will face Sergeant Bluff-Luton (28-6) in a regional semifinal in Sergeant Bluff on Saturday.
Humboldt got hits from Claire Dieleman, Gracie Lyon, Reagan Lee, Abby Armitage and Landry Lash. Adalee Nolting took the loss pitching.
Humboldt girls bow to 5A Waukee Northwest, 8-3
The Humboldt softball team closed out their regular season at home on July 9 by falling to Waukee Northwest, 8-3.
