Corey Dettmann, who was a big contributor on the Humboldt High School football team the last three years with his electrifying speed, as well as a standout in baseball, golf and basketball, represented his school one more time last weekend.

Dettmann, a recent graduate of Humboldt High School, played for the North squad last Saturday (July 20) in the annual North-South Shrine Bowl All-Star football game. It pitted top graduating seniors from across the state. The game was played inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.

Dettmann played on the defensive secondary as the North won, 49-28.

“It was a great experience. I’m involved in a lot of sports in high school and to be able to come back and play the game that I have loved a lot while growing up was a really good experience,” Dettmann said.
