Lohaus moves inside to defensive tackle

As the University of South Dakota football program emerges as a Midwest power, former Humboldt High standout Tayeton Lohaus is excited to be a part of the revival.

Lohaus, an all-state defensive end for Humboldt, has made the switch inside to defensive tackle for the Coyotes, who finished 10-3 overall in 2023, 7-1 and second in the Missouri Valley Conference to South Dakota State (8-0).

“It’s definitely a change, moving into the interior line, but I think it’s what is best for me,” Lohaus said. “I think my frame fits that position well and I think I should be able to do good things,” Lohaus said.
