RAMONA R. MARKMAN

Ramona R. Markman, 74, of Renwick, passed away Monday morning at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Ramona was born Oct. 26, 1949 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Donald R. and Grace (Janssen) Aure. She was raised on a farm near Bode and graduated from Twin Rivers High School, where she played in the band in 1967. She went on to attend Waldorf College and later Mankato State. In 1968, she moved to Omaha and became a loan officer in banking. She was united in marriage to Roger A. Markman on April 12, 1969 in Council Bluffs. Couple made their home in Neola while working in Omaha. In October of 1974 Ramona and Roger moved to Renwick. Ramona worked for Pioneer Seeds and later Monsanto, retiring in 2015. Family was most important to Ramona. She loved to cook and bake, loved the outdoors, flowers, birds and golfing. As the years went buy it was trips on the motorcycle or touring in the Corvette, yet her home was her pride and joy decorating for each holiday and welcoming family back home.
Ramona is survived by her husband Roger of Renwick; sons, Ben (Tasha) Markman of Brandon, SD and Matthew (Cassie) Markman of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren Hannah, Austin, Sam and Jett; her brother Robert (Shirley) Aure of Spirit Lake; her sister Becky (Mike) Waggoner of Hinckley, MN; mother-in-law Vivian Markman of Humboldt; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog Cleo. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, Oct. 25 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Renwick. Burial was in Vernon Township Cemetery. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.
