Algona tops Humboldt wrestlers in top 5 matchup

In a battle of top five ranked dual teams in Class 2A, the Algona Bulldogs picked up bonus points in key matches and went on to defeat the Humboldt Wildcats, 39-24 in a North Central Conference boys’ dual in the Humboldt gym on Thursday night, Dec. 12.
Humboldt got wins from Sam Knight at 113, Cyler Cirks at 132, Tyce Clarken at 138, Landon Halverson at 175 and Broedy Hendricks at 190 pounds.
Humboldt, now 0-1 on the season, visits Hampton on Dec. 19. They'll compete in the Don Miller Invitational in Fort Dodge on Saturday, Dec. 21.
