Humboldt crowned four individual wrestling champions and won the team title of its own Michelle Jensen Memorial Tournament on Monday night, Dec. 16 inside the Humboldt gym.
The Wildcats finished with 148 points to take the top spot with Hampton-Dumont-CAL runner-up at 135 and Manson-Northwest Webster also at 135. South Central Calhoun had 86, Webster City 81.5 and Emmetsburg was sixth with 80. East Sac County with 65, Eagle Grove with 59.5, Iowa Falls-Alden at 54 and Pocahontas Area with 23 round out the team scoring.
Humboldt got individual titles from senior Brooklyn Robinson at 235, Danica Diedrick at 170, Gracey May at 110 and Laina Dettmann at 130.
Placing second for Humboldt was Mia Sorensen at 155 and Addie Meyer at 190. Kennedy Robinson was third at 190, as was Emilie Schriber at 120. Taking fourth was Madison Parker at 130 and Elyse Olson at 135.
Olyvia Satern placed fifth at 110. Elsie Stattelman was fifth at 120 and Dayton Cleghorn was fifth at 155. Gracie Lyon was sixth at 135. Ally Wood competed at 145 but didn’t place.
Gracey May improved to 16-9 on the season after she pinned Kali Hartnett of Webster City in the finals in 2:37. Dettmann moved to 18-4 with a 56-second pin of Kayla Skramstad of MNW in the finals at 130.
Diedrick improved to 19-3 at 170 with a pin over Elsie Kuper of HDC in 2:37 in the finals.
Brooklyn Robinson improved to 18-2 with a 37-second pin over Ellisa Anderson of MNW in the 235-pound final.
Humboldt will compete in the Don Miller Invitational on Friday, Dec. 20 in Fort Dodge. After the Christmas break, they wrestle in the St. James tournament in Minnesota.
