Mason City rallies past Humboldt boys in 4th quarter, 86-75
Mason City outscored Humboldt 28-7 in the fourth quarter to post an 86-75 victory over the Wildcats in non-conference boys basketball in the Humboldt gym on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Elliot Carlson poured in 31 points, Jackson Flaherty made 14 and Coen Matson added 11 to lead Humboldt, which slipped to 2-4 overall. Carlson made five 3-point baskets in the game.
Mason City, 3-2 overall, was led by Marcelo Whitmer with 25 points. Ty Sanchez-Evans muscled in 18 points, Drayden Witt had 14 and Jameer Falls added 13. Whitmer made four 3-point baskets in the game.
Humboldt returns to action at home on Tuesday night, Jan. 7, when they host Fort Dodge St. Edmond in North Central Conference action.
