Clarken, Hendricks win titles, HHS boys 4th in NCC wrestling

Tyce Clarken won the 138-pound class and Broedy Hendricks was first at 190 to lead the Humboldt boys wrestling team to a fourth place finish in the North Central Conference wrestling championships in Algona on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Algona won the team title with Hampton-Dumont-CAL second and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows third. Humboldt had runner-up finishes from Cyler Cirks at 132, Sam Knight at 113 and Jaxson Kirchhoff at 150.

Humboldt went 3-0 in a quad at Gilbert on Jan. 30, winning 66-6 over Gilbert, 42-31 over West Marshall and 65-9 over Perry, to improve to 13-5 overall in duals.

The Wildcats compete in the South Central Calhoun Duals on Saturday, Feb. 1.

They will host a regional dual on Feb. 4.
