Robinson, Diedrick advance to girls state wrestling!


Humboldt will be represented by this contingent in the Class 1A girls' state wrestling tournament in Coralville on Feb. 6-7 at Xtream Arena after advancing from a regional in Osage on Jan. 31. Brooklyn Robinson and Danica Diedrick will both represent Humboldt High School in the Class 1A girls' state wrestling championships in Coralville this week (Feb. 6-7).

At the regional qualifying meet held in Osage on Jan. 31, Robinson, a senior, won the 235-pound class while Diedrick was runner-up at 170 to lead the Wildcats. The top two finishers at each weight class advanced to the state meet, to be held inside Xtream Arena in Coralville.

Diedrick will take a 41-8 record into the state meet after she lost 8-6 to Fernanda Ramirez of West Fork in the finals. Robinson improved to 39-6 when she pinned Decorah's Madysen Lippe in 57 seconds in the finals.
