Gilbert eliminates Humboldt boys, 69-46

GILBERT – Just three nights after scoring 90 points and sinking 13 3-pointers, the Humboldt boys basketball team shot ice cold in a 69-46 3A substate semifinal in Gilbert on Thursday night, Feb. 27.

Coen Matson scored 10 points to lead Humboldt, which ends its season at 15-8. Elliot Carlson and Mason Van Pelt each had 9. Preston Stensland scored 18 to lead the Tigers, 15-8. Brody Hague had 13 and Connor Rash 12.

Gilbert advanced into a substate final against Storm Lake on Monday, March 3 in Storm Lake. Storm Lake beat Carroll, 66-61 in Storm Lake.
