MICHAEL E. LANGE

Michael E. “Mike” Lange, 72, of Gilmore City, passed away on Saturday morning, March 1, 2025, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
Mike was born Sept. 6, 1952 in Fort Dodge, the son of Eugene and Maxine (Meier) Lange. At an early age he lived in Gilmore City, before moving to Pocahontas with his family where he was raised and educated, graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1970. Following graduation, he worked as a watch maker for Scott Jewelry. Mike was introduced to Lorilee J. Clark in Clare and the couple were united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1972 in Fort Dodge. They made their home on an acreage near Gilmore City, where they raised their boys. Mike had worked for a time at CarQuest in Rolfe, later Blacktop Service and then Brushy Creek State Park. He enjoyed trail riding, camping and horses and anything with guns, collecting, refurbishing, etc. Mike loved his grandchildren and took great pride in attending their activities and events.
Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lori of Gilmore City, his sons; Chad (Jenifer) Lange of Dakota City, Jeremy (Tosha Nielsen) Lange of Rolfe and Aric (Laura) Lange of Gilmore City, his grandchildren; Morgan (Jesse) Johnson, Lexi, Noah, Alyssa and Max Lange and his brother Jim (Robin) Lange of Rutland. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 8 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.
