HUMBOLDT – Humboldt High senior Morgan Mann, the school’s all-time leading scorer in five-player girls’ basketball, was one of four players who were unanimously named first-team all-North Central Conference.

The post-season honors listing by the coaches was released last week.

Humboldt junior Ava Fischer was also selected to the first team while Humboldt senior guard Paige Nelson was chosen third team.

Humboldt finished 12-11 overall, 7-5 and third in the conference standings. The Wildcats, who had a rugged non-conference slate, advanced to a regional semifinal, where they were sidelined by Estherville.

In addition to all-conference honors, Mann was to the Class 3A-6 all-region team. It also included Haylee Stokes and Rylee Yager of ELC, Bella Schisel of Garner, Jordan Valley of Hampton and Addison Marcks of Osage.

Mann was also named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association all-district team. She was selected to play in the Coaches Association all-star game in Grimes as well as the IGCA senior all-star game in Cedar Falls.

Mann finished her career with 1,606 points, breaking the school record she set over a year ago. Fischer set school records in two categories. Her 211 career 3-point baskets are a school record. Her 92 percent free throw shooting percentage this past season is also another school record.
