KAROL M. TOSO

Karol Marquerite Toso, age 77, passed away on Feb. 12, 2025 at her home in Edina. Karol was born in Graceville, MN to Orin and Mildred Toso, grew up on a family farm, attended grade school at a country schoolhouse and graduated from Wheaton High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marilyn and brother Sherald. Karol was formerly married to Dennis Grohn and is survived by their two children, Steve Grohn and Debbie Durio, three grandchildren, Riley Grohn, Cara Grohn, Daniel Durio and great-granddaughter, Briar Rose. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: Roger (Linda) Toso, Karen (Jim) Unterseher, Milton (Kriss) Toso, Gregory (Connie) Toso, Orla (Mark) Sprengeler; sister-in-law Marie Olness and 17 nieces and nephews. Karol is also survived by her Uncle John Toso, numerous cousins and countless friends.
Karol was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design and was a talented artist and writer. She kept a journal and never missed a day with her entries. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid book collector. Karol lived a life of gratitude and earned her 39th AA medallion in 2024. She was an amazingly kind and caring human being who prayed for others every day. Karol kept in touch with a wide circle of friends and relatives, often sending meaningful cards to celebrate special occasions. She touched so many lives and will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Karol was a woman of strong faith. She was baptized and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church and was a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church where she participated in congregational activities.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis. Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. (noon) with lunch to follow.
