HUMBOLDT - Humboldt High senior 138-pounder Tyce Clarken, who received the David Musselman Award as Humboldt’s Most Outstanding Wrestler this past season, was one of several award recipients in last week’s team banquet held on Mar. 4 at the school cafeteria.

The event paid tribute to the 2024-25 boys’ wrestling program, led by veteran coach Chad Beaman, who finished his 22nd year leading Humboldt. Beaman and his assistant coaches, Justin McDaniel and Mark Cirks, led Humboldt to an overall dual record of 18-6. Humboldt was 6-1 and runner-up to Algona (7-0) in the powerful North Central Conference.

As a team, Humboldt won the Joe Fitch Invitational, the Fort Dodge tournament, the South Central Calhoun dual tournament and were also the team champs in the district tournament.

Humboldt was also honored for its overall academics, named to the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Academic All-State as well as receiving the Excellence in Academic Achievement by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
