SANDRA REEKERS

Sandra ‘Sandi’ Reekers, 78, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Hospital Rock Island.
A visitation will be held on April 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode, followed by the funeral at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place immediately after at Saint Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in Bode. Sandi was born on Aug. 31, 1946, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Lee and Nadine Selvig. She married Dan Sickels and was blessed with her son Scott shortly after. Dan preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2012. She later married Henry Reekers and spent many wonderful years with him. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2011.
Sandi was a member of the First Christian Church in Arizona. She found great comfort in her Lord and Savior. Sandi was a vibrant and sentimental soul with an independent spirit. Her passions were many, and she found deep joy in expressing her creativity, especially through photography. For over 25 years, she poured her heart into her work at Lifetouch, capturing moments that would be cherished forever.
Sandi’s love for adventure took her outdoors, where she thrived—whether it was horseback riding, skiing, ice skating, golfing, hiking, or simply taking in the beauty of nature. She was an extraordinary athlete with a deep love for basketball and softball. She cared very deeply for the people around her. Her immense strength and resilience were matched only by the tenderness of her heart.
Sandi is survived by her son, Scott Sickels; sisters, Kay Flanders and Annie (Joe) Rodgers; nephew, Rocky Stensland; and niece, Hannah (Brian) Brock; her great niece Kaylin Brock and great nephews, Michael and Matthew Brock.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and brother-in-law, Mark.
