After placing fifth in last year’s North Central Conference meet, the Humboldt girls’ track team and head coach Spencer Ross are poised to move up this year, thanks to the return of 15 letterwinners.
Ashlynn Works, the team’s only state meet performer last year in both the shot put and discus, has graduated, but has a talented group looking to move up and make their mark this spring.
“We return 15 letterwinners who we feel will be consistent performers for us,” Ross said. “I was very happy with how things shook out at our indoor meet on March 20. I’m happy with how things are starting to emerge. We’ve got some things we can do moving forward.”
