Lewis is new strength and conditioning coach at HHS

Jake Lewis says he can see himself spending the rest of his life in Humboldt.

Lewis, who was hired by the district to teach physical education, will also take on the role as the school’s strength and conditioning coach. Lewis and his wife, Cheyanne, were introduced to the Humboldt High School coaching at a meet-and-greet event on April 2.

Cheyanne will teach sixth grade at Humboldt Middle School. They are parents of a young child and are anxious to anchor their roots in the community.

“This is a phenomenal opportunity. My family and I are super excited to come to Humboldt. It’s going to be hard for me to leave working at my alma mater, Dallas Center-Grimes, but my wife and I made this decision because we feel this is an opportunity that we can’t pass up and so we are not going to look back,” Lewis said.
