Wildcats win 4 events in NCC boys track

Humboldt won four events and placed third in the team scoring of the boys’ North Central Conference track meet held on May 8 at Clear Lake.
Elliot Carlson won the long jump with a leap of 20-feet seven and one-half inches while Tyler Carlson won the high jump at 6-foot-3.
Humboldt’s 4x800 relay claimed first in 8:37.78. The relay was comprised of Justin Ash, Jackson Flaherty, Chase Flaherty and Mason Van Pelt.
The 4x400 relay of Jackson Dodd, Van Pelt, Elliot Carlson and Chase Flaherty clocked 3:28.19 for top honors.
On Thursday, May 15, Humboldt will travel to Nevada to compete in a Class 3A state qualifying meet. Field events begin at 4 p.m. with running events at 4:45 p.m. The top two placewinners in each event, along with the next eight performances statewide, will advance to the state meet in Des Moines on May 22-24.
Other schools on hand will include Ballard Huxley, Boone, Carroll, Gilbert, Webster City, North Polk and host Nevada. Tickets can be purchased online through the Iowa High School Athletic Association or the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
