Sioux Center sidelines Humboldt boys, 5-0 in substate semifinal

Sioux Center scored four goals in the final 22 minutes to defeat Humboldt, 5-0 in a boys' semifinal round soccer match in Sioux Center on Tuesday, May 26. Humboldt ends its season with an overall record of 7-9-1. Sioux Center moves to 12-0-2. They play in a substate final at home on May 29 against Sergeant Bluff-Luton.

Wildcats rally for 6-5 win in substate opener
Karson Rubel kicked the game winning goal in overtime to cap a furious comeback to lift the Humboldt boys’ soccer team to a 6-5 victory over Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley in an opening round substate opener in Humboldt on Tuesday night, May 20, at Mason Maach Field in Humboldt.

Humboldt rallied from a 3-0 halftime deficit to force overtime. After two scoreless, 10-minute overtime periods, the contest was decided on a shootout with Humboldt converting three of their give kicks.

Humboldt moves on to a substate semifinal round contest at 11-0-2 Sioux Center on Tuesday, May 27.
