Wildcats pound Ballard, 45-7

Valley Davis caught 3 touchdown passes from Jackson Flaherty to lead the Humboldt football team past Ballard-Huxley, 45-7 Friday night in non-conference play at Huxley. Humboldt jumped out to a 21-0 lead and led 21-7 at halftime.

Humboldt’s defense stifled the Bombers all night long and several players played key roles in the victory as Humboldt improved to 2-2 overall. Ballard fell to 0-4. Cash McIntire scored on a 98-yard run with 7:10 left in the fourth quarter to cap the dominant win.

Humboldt begins Class 3A District 1 action at home on Sept. 25 against Webster City.
