Wildcat girls claim Humboldt Invitational title!

Placing three runners among the top five individually, the Humboldt girls' cross country won the team tile of their own invitational meet held Monday, Sept. 22, at Joe Sheldon Park in Humboldt.
The Wildcats finished with 69 points, just ahead of runner-up Boone which had 72. Conference foe Iowa Falls-Alden was a distant third at 100.
Avery Fisher took second in 20:33.71. Tyra Schupbach of West Bend-Mallard was first in 20:19.64. Aubry Fisher was third at 21:07 and Brynn Malo fifth in 21:24.17 for the Wildcats. Macey Rodgers was 22nd in 24:00.
Humboldt's boys finished ninth with 223 points. Algona won the top spot with 58 points as they were paced by individual champ Gavin Weber, who finished in 16:58.20. Humboldt's Henry Kramer was 13th in 19:37 to lead the Wildcats. Miles Zeman was 52nd in 22:12. Carson Chambers was 53rd in 22:13 and Joel Thurm 54th in 22:16.
Humboldt will be off until Monday, Sept. 29, when they travel to Algona for the Bulldog Invitational.
