All you need to know before State Volleyball

For only the second time in school history and the first time since 2020, the Humboldt High girls' volleyball team will play in the Class 3A state championships after they held off Roland-Story in four sets Tuesday night, Oct. 28, inside the Humboldt gym. Humboldt won by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-18 in a Region 5 championship match.

HERE'S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW before the girls head to the 2025 State Volleyball Tournament to be held Nov. 3-6 inside Xtream Arena in Coralville.

Humboldt, ranked No. 5 in the latest 3A rankings, will take a 31-6 record into the state meet to be held Nov. 4-6 inside Xtream Arena at Coralville.

Humboldt drew a No. 5 seed in the state tournament and will face No. 4 seed Cherokee (29-7) in the first round on court one at 12 p.m. The winner of the match will play either top-seeded Western Christian (37-9) or No. 8 seed Mount Vernon (23-15) on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.

The other half of the 3A state tournament field has No. 2 seed Davenport Assumption (25-7) taking on No. 7 seed Mid-Prairie (30-9) and No. 3 seed Red Oak (38-2) facing No. 6 seed Carroll Kuemper (31-2). The championship match will be played Thursday, Nov. 6, 2:30 p.m.

- SPECTATOR INFORMATION -

Tickets went on sale on Oct. 24 and can be purchased online at XtreamArena.com for $15 (+fees) or at the Xtream Arena Box Office for $15 (cash or card accepted, NO personal checks will be accepted at the box office). Admission will be charged for those kindergarten age and older. Those wishing to leave the Xtream Arena and return the same day must scan their ticket at the specified stations prior to leaving the arena for re-admittance.

Public Parking is available at the South Parking Lot off Quarry Road (SE of Xtream Arena, S of Coralville Conference Center) and the North Parking Ramp (N of Hyatt Regency Hotel). All street parking is 2-hour parking.

FAN GUIDE
- Only CLEAR bags smaller than 12x12x6 may be brought into the arena. Non-clear bags (purses, backpacks, etc.) will not be permitted.

- Xtream Arena concession stands are CASHLESS. Debit/Credit Cards only.

- IGHSAU Programs are $5. Cash or credit accepted.

- Balloons, banners, signs, flags, light or laser pens, or any paper debris (including confetti) are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

- Objects that provide a safety concern (pom-poms on sticks etc.) are also PROHIBITED.

- Artificial noisemakers such as air horns, megaphones, cowbells, thunder sticks etc. are also PROHITBITTED.

- All spectators must wear and shirt and shoes during IGHSAU-sponsored tournament matches. Shirts must be worn in a proper manner and shall not promote obscene or inappropriate content.
