Hendricks state runner-up!

Humboldt’s Broedy Hendricks saw his bid for the 190-pound state championship fall just short as he was edged 4-2 by Maximus Purdy of Davenport Assumption in the Class 2A final in Des Moines on Saturday night, Feb. 21, inside the Casey's Center. Hendricks ends his outstanding junior season at 52-2. Hendricks won his semifinal round match on Friday, Feb. 20, by edging Josh Ringler of Grinnell, 4-2.
The rest of Humboldt's contingent at state fell short in the consolation rounds. Sophomore Henry Kramer (31-13) at 126 pounds, freshman Karson Reinhardt (37-16) at 132, senior Jonny Hayden (28-26) at 138, sophomore Caleb Vinsand (32-22) at 144, junior 150-pounder Jaxson Kirchhoff (39-19), sophomore Braden Downs (43-16) at 157 and freshman Tate Halverson (36-22) at 175 all fell short in the consolation wrestle back for the Wildcats.
