Humboldt County Ag and Extension is on a mission: Extension Week April 6-10

HUMBOLDT - Humboldt County will celebrate Extension Week April 6-10. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Humboldt County, like many other extension offices throughout the state, provide information, education and support in three primary areas—health and human science, community and economic development and agriculture and natural resources.

“Our staff and council would like to officially announce and invite our community and surrounding members to celebrate Extension Week with us,” said Jessi Heyer, office manager.

“Monday April 6, is our kickoff day and the entire week is full of fun and educational experiences for all ages. It’s a no school day,” Heyer said.

“Pollinator Monday” is brought to us by The Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium. Live Bees, Native Seeds, Insects, Butterflies, Crafts and more will be present,” Heyer said.

“Tree Keeper Tuesday’ is brought to us by Trees Forever. Tree question and answer and two no cost courses will be offered in our office on the same day,” Heyer said.

“Wednesday is ‘Foodie Day.’ Brought to us by our local food establishments and Extension Staff. Come downtown and enjoy delicious food and drinks mid-day in and outside our office,” Heyer said.

“Thursday is ‘Birds of Prey Day’ and is brought to us by Humboldt County Conservation and SOAR (Saving Our Avian Resources). This will be an educational day in the office with live birds, tracks and local conservation displays,” Heyer said.

“Friday is ‘Meet the Team Morning.’ Brought to you by the Humboldt County Extension Staff and Council. Come spend a little time getting to know us, enjoy a snack or two and learn what we have to offer for information and programs,” Heyer said.

“Please come see us the week of April 6 in our office at 727 Sumner Ave Downtown Humboldt,” Heyer said.
