Wildcats 5th in NCC boys' track meet

Humboldt finished fifth with 78 points as a team in the North Central Conference meet at Algona on May 7.
Clear Lake won the team crown with 177 points. Algona was second with 121 and Iowa Falls-Alden third at 113. Webster City was fourth with 82. Hampton-Dumont-CAL was sixth with 59. Fort Dodge St. Edmond (40), Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (38) and Charles City (28) round out the team scoring.
Humboldt's 1,600-meter medley relay of Cash McIntire, Jackson Flaherty, Valley Davis and Chase Flaherty finished first in 3:40.73.
McIntire was fourth in the long jump at 19-4. Jack Guy was fourth in the shot put at 52-6.25. Humboldt's 800-meter medley relay took fourth in 1:34.18. The Wildcat 4x200 relay was also fourth in 1:34.12.
Humboldt will now prepare for the state qualifying meet at Clear Lake on May 14. Other schools on hand will include Algona, Clear Lake, Charles City, Independence, Iowa Falls-Alden and Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
