Cade Birdsell advances to state golf!

Cade Birdsell was meet medalist in leading the Humboldt boys' golf team in a Class 3A district in Atlantic on May 18. Birdsell shot a 67 to advance to state for the third straight year. Dawson Sleiter was eighth with a 70.
Humboldt tied Atlantic for third with 292. Atlantic advanced via the tie-breaker. Des Moines Christian (280) and Knoxville (287) claimed the top two spots to advance to state.

Led by Dawson Sleiter’s 72, the Humboldt boys’ golf team finished second in a Class 3A sectional tournament at Webster City on Wednesday, May 13, at Briggs Woods Golf Course. The Wildcats finished with a 313 total. Des Moines Christian was first with 308. Nevada took third at 325. All three teams advance into a district meet on May 18.
Sleiter was followed by teammate Cade Birdsell with a 77 for fifth. Andrew Nedved was ninth at 79, Carson Oleson 23rd with an 85, Ascher Gonder with an 88 and Cooper Theesfeld with 94.
