RICK A. RODGERS

Rick Allen Rodgers was born on Sept. 3, 1964, in Fort Dodge, the son of Ronald Rodgers and Linda (Riddle). He grew up in Corwith and Renwick and attended school in Corwith and Boone Valley in Renwick, graduating in 1982.
On Dec. 15, 1984, Rick was united in marriage to Lisa Hefty at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They were blessed with two children, Ryan and Cassie.
Rick was truly a jack of all trades and could figure out just about anything. He and Lisa briefly lived in California and Florida before returning to Renwick. Throughout his life, Rick worked in construction, heating and air conditioning, fiberglass, mechanics and small-engine repair. He was very innovative and had a natural ability to solve problems, whether he was working on a project of his own or helping someone else. Family and friends knew they could always call Rick when they needed a hand. He was happiest when he was working on something and always seemed to have a project underway.
Rick was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan from a young age after his grandpa took him to a game. He proudly considered himself their #1 fan. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and NASCAR, especially cheering for Dale Earnhardt, hanging out with friends and spending time with Lisa’s uncle, Butch, who was like a brother to him. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Rick died Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Renwick; son, Ryan Rodgers of Livermore and his children Rhett and Bennett; daughter, Cassie Rodgers of Renwick and her children Peyton, Emmett and Huxley; father, Ronald (Sherrie) Rodgers of Taylorville, IL; mother Linda (Steve) Cramer of Zephyrhills, FL; sister, Kelley (Loren Hare) Lorenzen and her children, Zach, Heather and Beth. Rick is also survived by his mother-in-law, Carol (Ron) Froning; father-in-law, Phil (Pam) Hefty; siblings-in-law, Eric Hefty and his daughter Jazmine, Tom Hefty and his daughter Kayla, Josh Hefty and Melissa (Ben) Guderian; his dog, Rudy and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents; and cousin, Steve.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
